MBMods — Telegram Channel

MBMods is the official distribution channel for MBWhatsApp, a modified WhatsApp client built by a developer going by stefanoYG, alongside a parallel iOS build called MBWA. The bulk of the content is version-release notices: each post lists a version number, a date, and a changelog — scheduled messages, a ghost-mode toggle, in-app link previews without leaving history, custom accent colors, blur effects on statuses, and fixes carried over from the underlying WhatsApp base the mod is patched against (posts track WhatsApp's own version numbers, e.g. "base updated to 2.26.19.73"). Download links point to an external site, mb-mods.net, rather than hosting files in Telegram itself.

A recurring theme is drawing a line between this mod and others in the same space: one long post names over a dozen competing WhatsApp mods — GBWhatsApp, Delta WhatsApp, CM WhatsApp, WhatsApp Nova and others — and claims they run obfuscated code that harvests phone numbers, contacts, message data and even data from wallet apps, sending it to a private server. The same post and a follow-up assert MBWhatsApp has no such backdoor and works fine with Google Play Protect enabled. Whether or not the specific claims about rival mods hold up, the effect is the channel positioning itself as the safe choice in a market it describes as largely unsafe.

Posting is bursty rather than regular: stretches of two to three weeks without a message, then a cluster of two or three posts on the same day when a new build ships or a security concern comes up. There is almost no content unrelated to the mod itself — no general WhatsApp news, no wider apps discussion — aside from one holiday greeting to the community.

For someone who already runs MBWhatsApp, this is a direct line to changelog detail, download links and the developer's own account of security incidents, which is genuinely useful. For anyone else there is little reason to subscribe: the channel is single-purpose and promotional, and modified WhatsApp clients of this kind sit outside WhatsApp's own terms of service, a point the channel itself never raises. Treat the security claims about competing mods as one developer's word against another's, not an independent audit.
